Watt is a unit of power only.
Energy = Power x time
1 unit = 1000 watt x 1 hour
1 Unit = 1 kWh

friends it you run 1000w heater unit it shows after one
hour is 1 unit if you connect 2 heater load after 2 hous it
show 2kwh means 2 units on meter no matter it digital or
analoge meter

Energy meter reads power which we use at our homes or
offices. When we switch on any electrical eqipments it
rotates faster or blinks faster. And unit of power is KW
Kilo Watt.
But energy meter reads KWH Kilo watt hour
3600*1000=3.6MW
