why should be the frequency is 50 hz only why not others
like 45, 95 56 or anything ,
why should we maintain the frequency constant
if so why it is only 50

You can have the frequency at any frequency you like,
but than you must also make your own motors, transformers
or any other equipment you want to use.We maintain the
frequency at 50hz or 60hz cos the world maintains a standard
at 50 /60hz and the equipments are are made to operate at
these frequency.

50 Hz frequency is the indian standard maintained in power
sysytem so that all electrical eqquipments are designed in
at this Frequency.Otherwise not other reasons..

first of all the reason for choosing 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequency is to minimize the loses as well as transmit power efficiently . So if we try to use 100 Hz as a frequency of our power supply it will result in to many many loses like core losses will increase drastically moreover we will require a better quality core and there are many other loses which are not accounted generally in theory problems but practically they are accounted like with more frequency there will be more interference in telecommunication lines passing near to power lines and it will induce emf in every iron part near to power lines including supporting towers.
And when we talk to drop our power supply frequency to low levels like 20 Hz or 30 Hz it again results in power loss and inefficient transmission . as with lower frequency biggest concern is noticeable flickers in lamps . Thus considering all we use 50 or 60 HZ supply.
