why they charge more bill for low power factor rather than high power factor..

Answer / abhimanyu sirohi

the formula of ac powr is given as
P=VI (cos fi)
(cos fi) being the power factor here
now for keeping the constant power in the power system..they'll have to generate more voltage or current for compensating the loss due to low power factor. this is the reason why industries or factories wid low power factor r penalised.
