A decrease in Excitation Causes
1) Decrease in Terminal Voltage.
2) Increase in Stator Current.
3) Decrease in Power factor.
If further reduced, it might cause Pole slipping and Gen
coming out of synchronism.

in the case of synchronus generator by varying the
excitationthe teminal voltage can be varied.but in the case
of the motor the speed can be varied because as we know
that speed is invesly propotional to flux or field strength.

how can you calculate the value of external resistance inserted in a slipring industion motor? (eg. 110 kw / 990 rpm/50Hz/stator v-415/stator Amp-195/Rotor V-440/Rotor amps- 151.)
Is a contactor (or master relay) required between incoming lines and a VFD? The question goes to safety. If a contactor were used before the VFD and an e-stop engaged then the motor will coast to a stop (i.e. VFD loses power) instead of stopping much faster if the VFD braking fucntion were used. It would make more sense to keep power on the VFD.

In Dyn11 power transformer if any one of the 3 phases connected to earth in star connected side then please explain effect of the current flow in delta connected side of transformer.(In this case if one phase is shorted to ground in star connected side then we observe the current flow in two phases only not three phases in delta connected primary side. Please explain why it is so?)
