1.What is effect of capitance in transmission line? 2. After raising the voltage at receiving end..

Answer / michael

it is ferranti effect.
the voltage at the receiving end
is higher than the sending end.
in order to control ferranti effect
SHUNT REACTOR is place in the
transmission line

1.What is effect of capitance in transmission line? 2. After raising the voltage at receiving end..

Answer / vicky

1. simple generally capacitors are used to improve the power
factor in inductive load circuits.. here transformers also can
be taken as inductive one.. bcoz they are operating based on
induction principle...
2.increasing the voltage vil cause imbalance in power factor..
3. it can b nullified by providing high resistances along with
capacitors in series at the end...

1.What is effect of capitance in transmission line? 2. After raising the voltage at receiving end..

Answer / murali290

1.due to presence of capacitance in transmission line(generally distributed in nature)the voltage at receiving end becomes more than sending end called ferranty effect occures.
2.generally for any device(cables,wires...) at the time of manufacturing the insulation level given depends on full load voltage level only i.e,nameplate details.but due to ferranty effect the voltage increased than rated hence insulation damaged causing dead short circuit.
3.by using voltage regulators simply.there somany methods also

I have carried out wiring for lighting in a shed in Industrial area which contains Metal halide lamps & have balanced in 3ph.Now when we put all the lines on in the daytime the current taken at 3phases at MCB comes to be equal i.e.28,29,28Amps respectively but in the night time i.e between 7p.m.to 11p.m. at the same MCb the current is 52,59,62Amp, though I have fit 63A MCB it is tripping in the above period. What may be the reason.? Note: This industry is located in industrial area where majority of steel ingot manufacturing plants are there. Whether this may be due to harmonic? what should I do to overcome above problem.pl suggest urgently.
