how can we calibrate the differential pressure transmitter
by using HART communicator

Probably HART communicator used for online & onfield
calibration. As per my experience,I always used to do
calibration by step given bellow:
1.First,put transmitter loop in CAL mode.In CAL mode
controller the hold last PV for reference.causes without
stop or disturb process we can do calibration earlier
(depends on process)
2.Connect HART to the transmitter +ve & -ve
terminal.observed parameter on HART
display.e.g.pressure,dp,current output singnal.& note down.
3.Then close the isolation valve of both HP & LP tapping &
loose the both HP & LP side vent plug.In this condition
transmitter shoud show zero dp because same atmospheric
pressure actig both side.If transmitter showing zero dp
transmitter is normal & If it is not showing zero, then
there is some error in dp.
4.If transimtter showing error in dp then on HART go to
diagnosis-calibration-sensor calibration-dp trim.enter the
zero dp at atmospheric condition and come back on basic
setup display, transmitter will showing 4 mA current
output.means calibration is ok.then u can take transmitter
on line.and don't forget to checked leakage from impulse
tubing & vent plug.
Another procedure is Bench calibration.Using pressure &
calibrator we can check transmitter.even without HART we
can do bench calibration.

for DPT calibration on the field :
1.at first go the field and check our tag number to which u calibrate
2.then first close the both HP & HP side isolation valve, open the equaliser valve
3.open the vent valve
(for zero triming there is pressure flow)
4.then connect the HART communicator at ve and -ve terminal
5.open the hart =>>device setup=>>diagnosis=>>calibration=>>sensor calibration =>>dp trim=>>then enter Zero trim at atmospheric pressure
(that solve)
NOTE:-after complete the calibration close it to it's normal conditions..
.
thanx...

First do the 0 trime and span trim, In this it self problem
will solve....ealse use hand pump in point(In HP or LP side
it's deponds up on the usage) applay the pressure check the
reading

You can not accurately calibrate a differential pressure transmitter with a HART communicator. A communicator is just that. A communicator, not a calibrator. The communicator is displaying to the user the pressure input and ma output units that the transmitter "thinks" it is seeing and sending. These values may be quite different than the actual values being applied and sent as indicated by pressure and current calibrators which have themselves been calibrated using a known standard. You can use the communicator to adjust the transmitter to then match your calibration equipment.

Hart communicator is a hart of DPT Transmitter.is not a calibirator .only we connect and see the pressure , range ,MA,%., units.and also we can modified the configuration of transmitter in online mode. if any major problem for a transmitter only we do that bench calibiration using by DRUK Calibirator or handpumb

first of all connect the 250 ohm resistence in series while
connecting the HART to DPT for communication tnen close all
tabs and adjust zero.we can also adjust the range, unit by
using HART communicator.
