The mutual induction(M=L.dt/dI) between primary and
secondary windings will occurs due to the flex (Magnetic
Field). This flex comes due to sinusoidal wave only.In DC,
which has no sinusoidal wave. While giving the DC to
transformer windings, The winding will simply act as a
conductors. Due to cooper loss (no iron loss), the windings
will get heat and the temperature rising affect the
windings also.

you require a variable flux to induce an emf in a coil.If u
give a DC input,It will only damage the winding and the
insulation.

changing flux only induce ef
changing flux is created by either rotating a part inside
the constant or with alternating flux or both
if emf not induced there is no flux in secondary which is
only opposing so core will be heated...........

If DC is applied to transformer its winding will act as
source of unidirectional flux which causes core saturation
(if DC supply of sufficient magnitude is applied
continuosly).Thee will not be indused EMF in either
winding.Due to this reason transformers are not used in DC
supply .

M=LdI/dt. When we switch
on the dc supply, its value will
increase from zero to a
particular value within a very
small time interval,which
means dt~0,so the value of M
will be infinite.so Output
voltage will be high

How to find Cable size? Caterpillar generator produce (Two generators) 127*2=254 amp at 11 kv . What would be the cable size (XLPE) to supply 256 amp at 11 kv? Air or surrounding Temperature is 32 degree C. Cable will go under ground at 2.5 feet depth. Group Rating Factors is 3 cables. Clearance between cables is 7 cm. Soil Temperature (Ambient) 28o C Soil Thermal Resistivity is 1.2 K.m/W I would like to use 3 separate single core instead of using 3 core cable. Some says I should use three separate single core 120RM cables. Some says 70RM .some says 95. I m totally confused. Is there ant specific rule to determine cable size? What would be the LT cable size to flow 500 Amp current? Ifte My e mail address is ifte13@yahoo.com Anyone please send me the answer to my e mail address, i will be very glad.
