Can we use the 60 HZ transformer/rectifier/Motors/Coils in 50 HZ? if not so, why?..

Answer / rvg

Yes, but the use of 50 Hz not recomended because, this
frequnecy will give less flux linkage than what designed
for, and output voltage will be lesser.
Humming and other harmonics loss will be more/less and can
cause core heating,ie: core loss.

Can we use the 60 HZ transformer/rectifier/Motors/Coils in 50 HZ? if not so, why?..

Answer / pratheesh

NO...

For maintaning the magnetic flux in any coil(motor.
transformer etc.)in the same level, we have to keep the v/f
ratio same always. Where V= Applied voltage and F= Applied
Frequency.

If u reduce the frequency from 60hz to 50(reducing to 83%)
hz by keeping the applied voltage same, that instrument
will take more current.
one reason for that is while reducing the frequency, its
inductive reactance also will decreace, so total impedence
also.

But you can use that machine if u reduce the applied
voltage also to approximately 83%
