An accumulator is an 8-bit register that is a part of ALU
(Arithmatic-Logic Unit) of a processor. It is used for
temporary storage of 8-bit data and to perform arithmatic
operations like addition,subtraction,multiplication,division
or logical operations like AND,OR,XOR etc.The result of
operation is stored in accumulator.

A hydraulic accumulator is an energy storage device. It is a
pressure storage reservoir in which a non-compressible
hydraulic fluid is held under pressure by an external
source. That external source can be a spring, a raised
weight, or a compressed gas. The main reasons that an
accumulator is used in a hydraulic system are so that the
pump doesn't need to be so large to cope with extremes of
demand, so that the supply circuit can respond more quickly
to any temporary demand and to smooth pulsations.

The accumulator is an 8-bit register. It can send or
receive data via internal data bus.
It holds one of the quantities to be operated on by the ALU
and receives the result of an operation done by the ALU.
The accumulator is also identified as register A.

basically accumulator is the primary register for ALU. its
primary function to hold the first data of operation which
is performed/processed by the ALU. After the successful
operation done by the ALU , the accumulator act as
repository by replacing the input data by results and then
Accumulator transferred the result to memory or output
device according to the instruction.
repository-maintained or stored

accumulator is a device which is prohibited the liquid
particals entering in compressor, it's use for safty of
compressor , because compressor is damage by liguid paticals.
