what are the main hormonics in ac?

what are the main hormonics in ac?..

Answer / varun devulapalli

basically harmonics are the distorsion in the system waveform. these may lead to the poor sine wave and hence the system performance is effected. Harmonics are of two types : even harmonics and odd harmonics. Compared to even harmonics odd harmonics are very dangerous. if in a one half cycle of the main wave there are 3 half cycles, then it is 3rd harmonic. and similarly if in one half cycle of the main wave there are 5 half cycles, then it is 5th harmonic. the above said are odd harmonics. similarly for even harmonics, there will be even no of half cycles for each half cycle of the mainn wave.
