What value(high/low) of diversity factor is desired in
power system and why?
How such value is achieved?
Answer / iamdon
A high value of diversity factor is always welcomed in
power system because it indicates the conservation of
energy i.e, there is less wastage of energy. This is one of
the goals of electrical engineering.
sum of individual max demands
Diversity factor= ----------------------------- (>1)
Max load on the system
High value of Diversity factor can be achieved by following
mathods.
1)Incentives to user for using electricity in light load
periods.
2)Proposing different time zones in the country so that
peak demands in each zones are at different time.
3)Introducing two parts tariff(total demand and max demand)
