what do you mean by star connection? ..

Answer / sareer ahmad lone

Star connection is that connection from where we can take
the neutral point. If you take three coils in a transformer
similar ends are joined together to form a common point
which is called a neutral. We can earth the neutral point.
Normally for bigger transformers like 66kV or more the
connection is star/delta,and the cost is less because the
higher the voltage the more the insulation you have to
use,so if you use a star primary you can degrade the
insulation towards the neutral point, then using less
insulation.Hope the answer is correct

what do you mean by star connection? ..

Answer / sankara babu

star connection is defined as all the conductors connected to a common point is called star connection .
for the higher voltages we are use the star connection due to the insulation problem.
for higher voltages we use the star-star connections.
on secondary side of transformer we always use the star connection with ground confirm
