the shaft output from the steam turbine must be coupled
with generator so inorder to avoid steam leakage into the
atmosphere and to prevent atm air to enter into the steam
passage a tight seal shd be provided.this is known as gland
sealing of steam turbine

provided with steam sealing of pressure around 800 -900
mmwc to avoid any leakage from hp side and any air
ingress from lp side.
