plz tell.. how can we find weight(in kg) of 1 cum of m20
mix..? how can we find the ratio of cement sand and
agregate on site i.e if we given some amount of m20 mix
then hw we find the ratio..?

Dear one,
M20=1:1.5:3 Ratio and M15=1:2:4 all the calculation which given above is not as per Standard so pls post the right one because any one of juniors can follow it blindly,
OPC ( Mix ratio of 1:1.5:3 - M20) ORDINARY PORTLAND CEMENT
Volume - 1 + 1.5 + 3 = 5.5
Total volume of ingredients used = 1.57 Since we use volume batching, wet volume of concrete is 1.57 times the dry volume)
Volume of coarse aggregate required "(3/5.5) *1.57 = 0.856 cu.m
=0.856 * 35.314 = 30.24 cu. ft"
Volume of sand required "(1.5/5.5) * 1.57 = 0.428 cu.m
= 0.428 * 35.314 = 15.12 cu.ft"
Volume of cement required "(1/5.5)*1.57 = 0.2854 cu.m
=0.2854 * 1440 = 411 kgs
= (411/50) = 8.22 bags"

M20 means
The mix ratio will be = 1:2:4
That is Cement : Sand : Aggregate
To find out the weight
Add there all = 1+2+4 = 7
1.54 is the design constant
Then for cement (1/7)*1.54 = 0.22m3
One bag (50KG) of cement = 0.0332 m3
Therefore cement required in kg = 332 KG/m3
For sand = (2/7)*1.54 = .44
i.e. = 2*332 = 663 Kgs /m3
For Aggregate = (4/7)*1.54 = .88
i.e. = 2*663 = 1326 Kgs /m3
water cement ratio = 0.42*332 = 140 Kgs
Therefore the weight of one cubic meter of -
Concrete for M20 mix (1:2:4) = 2461 kgs
After exact & all calculations it will come = 2500 kg/m3

To calculate one cum of of weight of concrete you need find
yield of concrete with standard calibrated container.
The ratio can be found with respect to weight of material
used.(say Cement 1,Sand weight/Cement weight,CA/Cement
weight you will get ratio of mix)

1. M20 mix stands for 1:2:4 proportion
2. 1 cm.m of M20 mix contains 1+2+4 = 7 parts, in which
1 part of cement, 2 part of fine aggt & 4 part of
Course aggt.
3. unit wt of plain concrete (without steel) = 2400 kg/m^3.
4. Now,
Cement = 1/7 X 2400 = 342.85 kg
Fine = 2/7 x 2400 = 685.71 kg
Course = 4/7 x 2400 = 1371.43 kg
This way any problems of these kind can be sorted out.
... Good Luck...

cement req. one meter cubic=1440 kg/cum
cement req M20=1/7*1440=206 Kg
FA = 2*206 =412 Kg
CA = 4*206 =824 Kg
