How do you do Analysis and design for testing projects?

Analysis is done by 1st understanding the Business requirements and then identifying the scope to be tested.
Design is done by after identifying the scope to be tested from the requirements and then test scenarios are prepared followed by test cases and conditions.

I have 3 years of experience as a software manual tester. What can i study further for a career growth. Please advice if there is anything apart from automation testing
