The Bug in software: is an error or fault in a computer
program which makes it fail to work as it's supposed to.
The Defect is Anything that does not perform as specified.
This could be hardware, software, network, performance,
format, or functionality.

Please, Don't give ridiculous answers. Tell which books
have these answers. There is no difference between bugs and
defect as these terms are interchangebly used in different
companys.

There is no difference b/w bug and defect.
If client raise any issue then that is Defect. If you are
raising the issue then it was bug, this as per the client
and your company.
If its b/w developer and tester -> Defect is raised by
tester and bug is by developer.

The mistake in the code by developer is said to be as error, the error found by the tester is said to be bug, the bug accepted by developer is defect, if build does not meet the requirements of the clients is said to be as failure.

during the verification process when we validate we get a
bug n defect is same but position is different..if dat is
not going to be excecuted exactle even that is working but
not properly is DEFECT..like u buy a saari u cn wear but a
hole makes dat deffective..
