Please can anybody tell me the step by step procedure for
calibrating the Pr,Lvl,Fl,Temp transmitter on process?
Answer / kallam siva
to calibrate Temperature transmitter---------
for a example take a temp. transmitter manufactured by
RADIX-
in this transmitter you will be having terminals (i.e.,2
for supply 220 volts,3 for RTD sensor if u r using a three
wire sensor, and two 2 for 4 to 20 ma o/p).u can see a
display that indicates the process value(Temperature).here
there are 2 things to be considered -firstly u have to
check the whether the display is showing correctly, if it
is showing a some error then connect a RTD simulator insead
of sensor, based on that u rectify the error by adding some
bias value wiyh the help of the keys provided on the
instrument.then come to the second stage. here u will be
checking whether the transmitter is giving correct 4 to 20
ma o/p. for this purpose first compare the temperatures
that is displaying on the instrument and some remote
location like SCADA or PLC. if there is any difference then
that indicates that the transmitter is not giving proper ma
o/p. to rectify this adjust the measuring range that is set
in the instrument. whenever u reduce the range then ma o/p
increases and vice-versa. this is how u can check a
temperature transmitter.and rest of the instruments like
pressur, flow etc., can be calibrated by using HART
communucator including some pressure sources.

If a flow transmitter (magnetic type FT) that can measure flow and temperature, then why in some industries people use flow transmitter and temperature transmitter in the same line 1 after another? Even after 1 single flow FT is capable of measuring flow as well as temperature.
