In Railway, why we are used HT Line 25KV ?.why we are not
used 11KV,33KV and others for This?

The choice of 25 kV was not based on a neat and tidy ratio
of the supply voltage, but rather related to the efficiency
of power transmission as a function of voltage and cost.
For a given power level, a higher voltage allows for a
lower current and usually better efficiency at the greater
cost for high voltage equipment. It was found that 25kV was
an optimal point, where an even higher voltage would still
improve efficiency but not by a significant amount in
relation to the higher costs incurred by the need for
greater clearance and larger insulators.

Dear ramesh Kumar ,
i got your quest
can you read my previous mail last 3 line.
power transmision @ 25 KV no need why because 220/66/33/11
kV hence we can reduce the cost of conductor.but incase of
railway you know ,if we increase the voltage level we have
to give a clearance between the live conductor.
i can assure you this by a video if you give your email id

Another point: If we use 11 KV for railway traction, the
conductor size will increase to meet the current
requirement and also the the contact area of the current
collector (Panto graph). If we increase it of 25 KV, the
cost of insulators, Locomotives will increase to meet the
standard of protection etc. So the 25 KV is now considered
to be most economic. otherwise the Tram cars run at 6.6 KV
in kolkata city.

in railways we are using dc power.transmission line are of
course ac but we convert it to dc so there is no fear of
theft of railways equipments .
