Foe a 50 KA MCCB, what is the duration of SC it can with stand.
Generally, electrical equipment is designed for 1 sec but is it true for MCCB also.

or its fault withstand time is 0.2 sec because with in this time frame it will trip.

As per the standards for different voltage level there is
different short circuit fault value.
For ex: 11kV is 31.5kA and for 430V is 50kA.
ie., the breaker can withstand the short circuit of 50kA.

i am swathi, b.tech 4th year. In smps(switched mode power supply)we are using diodes,mosfets,igbts for controling of current.
