why diesel engine does not have spark plug like petrol
engine, how ever petrol is better fuel than diesel?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / jignesh
diesel engine work on compression ignition also drnsity of
fuel is more than petrol, vapourization of diesel is not
easy as petrol, and also diesel req high temperature for
combustion.when diesel injected in chamber air temp is high
as self ignition temp of diesel

because the compresion ratio in diesel engine is much
higher as compared to the patrol engine.so diesel engine
does not required any spark plug.

generally diesel engine, operation based on compression ignition(C.I)system.and petrol engine on spark.ignition the self ignition temperature of petrol is higher than diesel.in diesel engine at the end of compression stroke, the temp. is sufficiet 4 auto ignition of air fuel mixture so there is no need of sparking to ignite air fuel mixture.hence no need of sparg plug.

The bp of petrol is low hence due to spark plug it get
ignite easily where as in diesal engine spark doesnt work
like in petrol to ignite diesal.

Answer / karthick
petrol is much superior to diesel because petrol is less
difficult to ignite than diesel because the self ignition
temp of petrol is greater than diesel
