WHY WE CAN GENERATE POWER IN 3PHASE MODE ONLY NOT IN 4 OR 5
PHASE?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
3 phase power is the most economical solution.
Firstly as the number of phases increase accordingly the
number of conductors, insulators etc will increase which
will be costlier. And secondly as number of phases increases
power does not increase linearly i.e. total power supplied
in N phase system is not equal to N(power supplied by single
phase). It is their vector addition. Power v/s phase graph
will take a shape like the saturation curve of transformer
core. So at higher phases cost wise input is high but power
wise output is not that high.
That's why 3phase system is the optimum solution

we generate in 3 phase instead 4&5 phases as co-terminal angle of resultant vector cancles instead we go head for 6 phases since by by tilting one of 3 phase transission line by 60 degrees we can pose into first 3phase line so same circumference now propagating double power but it loses linearity when move to 12 phase accampained with sophisticated network as 3phase line require 3 circuitbreakers and 3 busbar at substation 6phases requires 6 C.B & busbar

according to the 3-phase alternating current the phase
diffrence for each phase must be 120 deg.if we consider the
3 phase,we get the total of 60 deg for one complete
cycle.thats why we allways generate the power in three phase
only

a 3 phase system is an arrangement of three winding
producing 3 single phase voltages of the same magnitude and
frequency but displaced 120 degree electrical from one
another the 3 winding are connected in such a way that 3
voltages act simultaneously in the circuit, each supplying
power at different intervals of time to a comman load.

Magnitude of Phase-to-phase (line) voltage is same
irrespective of whichever two phases you select.

in the mathematical solution any 3 forces are equaled in
magnitude and shifted with each one with 120 degree the
equivalent is equal to zero so we could have line that
called nuteral.the capability in 3 phases only the voltage
to neutral and line to line voltage

because , for balance 3 phase system the phase difference
must be 120 digree electrical and the AC complete one cycle
in 360 digree. so for balance system ganerates 3 phase
power.

I have a shop heater with a 1/3 hp capacitor start, induction motor driving the fan. Intermittently, the fan motor speeds up significantly for several seconds (15-60 sec) then slows to normal operating speed. The manufacturer suggested changing the capacitor which made no sense, but I did it to no avail. Could this possibly be caused by the centrifugal switch intermittently reconnecting the start winding?
