Hai I have 2500KVA,Transformer,13.8KV/380.DELTA/STAR.How much load that I can take interms of curr..

Answer / shalini.b

Transformer Ratio is given by
k=(v1/v2)=(N1/N2)=(i2/i1)
where
V1 : voltage at the primary side
V2 : Voltage at secondary side
like wise for current(i)& Number of turns(N)

k= V1 /V2
= 13800/380
=36.31

P=1.73*V*i*cos(phi)

input power
p1=1.73*v1*i1*cos(phi)
i1=(2500*0.8)/ (1.73*13.8*0.8)
= 104 Amps

k = i2 /i1
So i2 = 104*36.31
=3776

Hai I have 2500KVA,Transformer,13.8KV/380.DELTA/STAR.How much load that I can take interms of curr..

Answer / k.murugesan - tamil nadu

In Delta Connection

Line Voltage VL = Phase Voltage VP But Line Current IL =
1.73205 times of Phase Current IP.

In Star Connection

Line Voltage VL = 1.73205 times of Phase Voltage VP But Line
Current IL = Phase Current IP.

Hai I have 2500KVA,Transformer,13.8KV/380.DELTA/STAR.How much load that I can take interms of curr..

Answer / k.murugesan

Hi I am K.Murugesan BE EEE working at Tidel Park Ltd Chennai
as a O&M Manager.
KVA=1.732*V*I
KW=1.732*V*I*Cos.Phi

Primary Current=KVA/(1.732*13.8KV)
Primary Current= 2500/(1.732*13.8)
= 104.592A(HT.Amps)

Load Current/Secondary Current = 2500/(1.732*380)
Load Current/Secondary Current = 3.798357 KA
= 3798.357A (LT Amps)
You can Load up to 80% of Loads with safe operation.

Transformer does not consider PF.
It is only on Load side have to be maintain 0.8Lag to Unity.

Regards
K.Murugesan.

Hai I have 2500KVA,Transformer,13.8KV/380.DELTA/STAR.How much load that I can take interms of curr..

Answer / saqib haroon

as per my point of view,answer of the input current is
wrong. Why the respectable brother put power factore value
with KVA rating, as per formula only once we will put PF
value, which will divide this KVA rating.

In this case the answer will be
P1= 1.73*V1*I1*cosphi
2500= 1.73*13.8*I1*0.8
2500/1.73*13.8*0.8= I1
131 A = I1

Remaining portion is OK

Hai I have 2500KVA,Transformer,13.8KV/380.DELTA/STAR.How much load that I can take interms of curr..

Answer / piyush rana

Are Karani,
I think you are not electrical engineer, it is a basic
thing,
You just calculate through following formulas :
KW= 1.732 * V * I * Cosphi

KVA=1.732 * V * I
So, I= 1.732*1000/(V * I)

Is This Answer Correct ?    1 Yes 15 No
