As said by Naveen -
MCB = Miniature Circut Breaker.
i.e in case of over load (higher that the nominal current)
is drwan by the load the MCB trips (opens the circuit).
However, Naveen is wrong in defining ELCB & RCCB.
ELCB = Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker
RCCB = Residual Current Circuit Breaker
Both ELCB & RCCB are synonymous; the function being only
earth leake protection (and no over load protection)
i.e ELCB a.k.a RCCB trips in case there is an earth leakge
on the load side.

ELCB Stands for Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker,MCB stands
for Miniature Circuit Breaker & RCCB stands for Residual
Current Circuit Breaker.
In The three cases MCB was old concept which works as
circuit breaker in case of overload/short circuit.
ELCB works as a circuit braker in case of only Earth
Leakage.
But RCCB is the latest concept which works as a circuit
breaker in case of Earth Leakage,Over Load/Shor circuit.
In between three devices RCCB is the most effective circuit
breaker which does multi works How ever other two devices
doesnt work the same........

MCB=Miniature circuit braker
for overload trip
ELCB=Earth leakage circuit breaker
to disconnect the supply when the circuit is having a earth
leakage
RCCB=residual current circuit breaker
for both overload+leakage current

earlier there were rccb. elcb is latest earth leakage
protection deivce ..with more sensitivity...
mcb is to protect the circuit from overload...and short
circuit...
function of elcb and rccb is same.

The function of MCB is quite clear,it gives overload
protection and connected to the phases.
while RCCB & ELCB detects the leakage current flowing
to earth, they are connected to the neutral wire of the
supply and compare the sum of current through phases with
the current though nuetral. any mismatch will indicate the
presence of earth leakage current.

MCB- miniature circuit breaker is used to break the circuit under over load or short circuit fault
ELCB- earth leakage circuit breaker is used for break the circuit under earth fault or leakage

Elcb stands for earth leakage circuit breaker, which
measures the current flowing to earth due to inbalance in
the downstream circuit.
RCCB stands for residual current circuit breaker, which
trips on residual current,

MCB=minature circut breaker.
in case of high current(surge)trying to entering the
circuit it breakes the circut(trips).
RCCB=Resubel current circuit breaker.
in case of earthing leackage the cirucits trips. works as
MCB+earth leakage.
ELCB=Earth leackage circuit breaker.
same as MCB+earth leackage.
