Answer / jignesh kadia

yes, motor will run with lesser torque & speed..but after
some time it's get overheated because of they run under
exited condition.the emf not much produce to rotor cause
rotate at rated speed so that humming produce in it. the
losses are produce in motor and it's get overheated.. and
motor will burn out..

Will a 230VAC motor run OK at 208VAC...

Answer / suresh kumar

Motor will run with lesser speed and torque. But if the
load is same as in the case of 230VAC, current will be more
and motor may burn.
