current.

Answer / irshad
Drift current is flow due to applied voltage across P-N
junction & Diffusion is flow due to different concentration
of hole & electron in P-N junction.

Answer / krishna
Drift current is the net flow of carrier due to applied
potential in p type or n type material.
While diffusion current occur due to concentration
gradient and it is responcible for current flow across the
junction(minority carrier diffusion).

Answer / hasan shathuly
drift current produces due to electric field while
diffusion current produces due to concentration difference
of charge carrier in a semiconductor
Is This Answer Correct ? | 68 Yes | 12 No |
Answer / vikaran goyal
drift current relates the movement of a carrier,an electron
or hole, to an applied electric field.
Diffusion current relates the movement of carriers due to
random behavior and non-uniform distribution.

Answer / sruthi aravind
In a PN junction diode atfirst there will be a
concentration gradient is present.because of that there
will be movement of charge carriers.that is diffusion.as
the result of this a current flow will takes place and that
current is diffusion current.
under the influence of an electric field(or the biased
condition)the electrons in n region will move to p region
and vocecersa.thus a current flow will takes place.that
current is known as drift current.
In equilibrium, both the drift current and diffusion
current is equal.

Answer / ankit dhankhar
drift current is due to potential gradient
and diffusion current is due to concentration gradient
drift current depends on electric field but diffusion
current isn't depend on electric field
current density due to drift current depends upon
charge
electric field
mobility constant
holes and electron concentration

Answer / akhil gopal
Charge that moves in response to an applied electric field
in a p-n junction diode (silicon)is known as Drift Current.
Diffusion current is a current formed due to the diffusion
of positive holes to the n-region and the diffusion of
electrons to the p-region
Is This Answer Correct ? | 25 Yes | 11 No |
Answer / ashish khanna
Flow of charge carriers due to the presence of electric field results in drift current.
Flow of charge carriers from higher concentration region to a low concentration region (concentration gradient) results in diffusion current
Is This Answer Correct ? | 9 Yes | 2 No |
Answer / ashish khanna
Diffusion current no doubt depends upon concentration gradient.
drift current depends upon electric field and carrier
concentration. Here electric field is not the applied one but
due to the diffusion of charges across the junction.
Is This Answer Correct ? | 9 Yes | 4 No |
Answer / imdad ullah
diffusion current:
Diffusion current occurs even though there isn't an electric field applied to the semiconductor.
drift current:
Drift current depends on the electric field applied on the p-n junction diode.
