hello friends
Can anyone tell me what the cut off for final selection
would be in the CGL main exam, 2008.
I think the arithematic paper was quite tough, also the
First three questions of General Studies were also tough
(they carry 25+25+15 marks)
what do you think....................

Dear rahul,
In G.S the 1st question was tough no doubt,but the 2nd &3rd
was not that much tough,but not easy also.
But every one in this blog is saying that arith was
tough,but the candidates & my friends saying that this was
easiest.I am also expecting 160+.
if you will see the marks of candidates of 2006 you will
find lots of them have got 200/200 with in first 300 rank &
185+ till 1000 rank & may be there is some one who is below
150.
anyways let hope the selection/cut-off would go low this
year & all of us would get the job.

are yaar result aane do sab clear ho jaayega....
but one thing is for sure that the paper was 150% tougher
than 2006....there is no doubt in it and some questions too
were tough in General studies paper....

this is some other rahul.........I have given the paper
only for the first time
I still feel that 400 marks including the interviews would
make it to the final cut off
I totally agree with ajay.........
There is no doubt that the GS and Maths paper was very
tough.
Whatever anyone may say the papers were very tough and cut
the final cut offs would not be more than 400 anyhow

Dear all participants,in this blog,
there are many persons in the blog who are totally fraud,&
some of them is taking the e-mail id & continously sending
fraud offers of money in crores in the name of some banks
of international destinations.
one of such example is RAHUL & D.K etc..
anyhow............
the papers of CGLM 2008 was tough(G.K & Arith).
B.yadav is right,that a lots of candidate has scored more
than 185+ in 2006.But the case is not same of 2008.
so,we can expect appx.400 to 500 will get 200/200 in arith,
500-1500+will get 180+ & the average will be about 150+
or any thing can happen.
now it's all depends upon the no.of vaccancies..........

One shoking news was that ,no.of candidates qualified in
prelims of 2005 is more than 55000+ but the no.of vaccancy
filled up was much less than 2006.& in 2008 the post of IT
insp in 2007-08 was only 97 according to annual direct
recruitment plan (data taken from (IT website).so,now we
can only expect the no.of vaccancy should go higher.....

It is almost about 1 year that the result of combined
matric level main has not been declared till date,where
only two copies has to evaluate,so, how much time will they
take to evaluate 7 papers of graduate level?..no one
knows...

now the chairman of ssc has constituted an expert committee
to advice on 2Nd ARC.& if they take some decisions
regarding lowering the age limit then it will be a serious
problem for all of us.If any one of you have any news,then
please share..................

yes rahul....its right yaar....
last time general category selection cutoff in central
excise was 423. We can hope this time too around 430 with
interview if the vacancies would be somewhere around 3000
because the papers were relatively tougher than 2006.

But all it depends on the number of vacancies.

I called SC and they are saying that the result would be
declared in september. Hope the maximum of us would get a
call for interview....
