The question is Power Factor Correction, which means loss
of power on account of Transmission & Distribution at the
end level consumer with respect to Unity Power Factor. ie:
if power factor at consumer level is .95 then consumer has
to install additional capacitors in order to achieve .5
additional pf to reach value to unity.

to be maintained very near to unity so as to avoid high
currents and minimize losses.
In many industries Static Capacitors and Synchornous
condensors are used for PF correction.

factor as power factor decrease requireq cureent increse so
losses increses and KVA increases , we have to increase it
close to unity by sereis reactors , parrallel capacitors to
make our system n application run at increased efficiency .
