what happens to the speed of a DC series motor when series field winding is removed?..

Answer / raymond johnson

In a series wound motor, the stator is connected in series with the rotor so, if the series winding (stator) is opened, current ceases to flow thru the motor and it will come to a stop.

what happens to the speed of a DC series motor when series field winding is removed?..

Answer / phanendra babu

in dc motors Eb is proportional to speed/flux,so if field
opens the motor speed will be dangerously increased and
leads to damage the motor.

Is This Answer Correct ?    4 Yes 2 No

what happens to the speed of a DC series motor when series field winding is removed?..

Answer / nagaraju .n

does not complite the path of an supply that why motor stop.

what happens to the speed of a DC series motor when series field winding is removed?..

Answer / rvg

The speed of a series wound DC motor will increase as soon
as the excitation deceases. But if we remove the excitation,
the motor speed will tend to increase, because of the
residual magnetism, and the rotor winding will burns off,
because of short circuit.

what happens to the speed of a DC series motor when series field winding is removed?..

Answer / giridhar

in motors n is inversely proportional to flux from
Eb=z*n*fy.so if flux becomes 0 then n is infinite
