Answer / capseee
When the prime mover rotates the rotor will rotate and cuts
the magnetic field line around it and hence power is
produced and the mechanical energy is transfer into
electrical energy.

The key different between an alternator and a generator is
what spins and what is fixed. On a generator windings of
wire (the armature) spin inside a fixed magnetic field. On
an alternator, a magnetic field is spun inside of windings
of wire called a stator to generate the electricity.

for example take gen set in gen set alternator is coupled
with diesel engine .so whenever engine rotate .shaft of the
engine is coupled with alternator rotor .in alt stator has
permanent magnet so at time of rotor rotating its cut the
magnetic flux therefore Mechanical energy converted into
electrical energy .

what is overflexing in transformer? setting?
I have 480V Single phase and I am trying to figure how big of a transformer (KVA's) and Primary breaker size I need to provide 200 Amps at 240V for a building.
For polarity test on a 11/3.3kV 2.5MVA delta-star Unit Auxiliary transformer,415V 3-phase supply was applied at the HV. Connection between Aa was made with a 2.5mm cable. As soon as power was switched on the cable caught fire and burnt. This test was then abandoned. It is noteworthy to say that a similar cable was also used in a similar transformer for the same. The cable did not burn and test was successfully completed with good result. What is wrong? Please, help me out.
