Supose we have one 220v A.C fan.if we provide 220v D.C what will be happen?..

Answer / ziauddin

if 220v dc supply is given to 1-p fan of 220v then the emf produced is zero n there are no flux ploduced by the magnet n torque wich is used to rotate fan is also zero hence it leads to burning f winding

Answer / muthu

wkt inductor will block DC. capacitor will block AC.
induction motor acts as a principle of induction. so it

Supose we have one 220v A.C fan.if we provide 220v D.C what will be happen?..

Answer / p.senthik kumaar

Then, the fan does not rotate.
Because, stator and rotor are seperated by different cycles..
It was phase shifted by 90 degree..
But, capacitor blocks a dc supply.
So, not run..
But, dc produce STATIC MAGNETIC FLUX.
and ac produce RoTATING MAGNETIC FLUX.
So, not possible in induction motor.
It, is possible only in universal motor to run both ac and dc..
