Answer / kapil mishra
floating earthing means the neutral is not earth by any
means like solid earthing ,or impedence earthing etc. due
to that if any earth fault occur in any phase the other
phase voltage increase root 3 times from the earth but
faulty phase voltage become zero from the earth. but your
line voltage remain the same.

Floating Neutral Means Neautral is Not Grounded & If there
is Any earth Fault Occured On Any One Phase As A Result Of
that The Voltage Of Other Two Phase Will Be Equal to line
Voltage.

The supply neutral point is eathed by a solid link by the
electic supply company.Hence neutral voltage w.r.t earth is
abut 2 to 3 volts. When the neutral link or neutral wire of
supply company breaks, the neutral point starts folating.
depending upon unbalance of the load on three phases, the
voltage on each phase fluctuates from as high as 350-400V to
as low as 50-100V. As a result of tis voltage apears
fluctuating & lights flicker. It normally results in damage
of power supply in various appliances like T.V.& also
damages motors in fans, mixers, fridge etc. of many
consumers in a building.

Answer / ashish
floting neutral means due to if voltage in all three phase
is not same due to asymmetrical load at output then voltage
drop through all phase are not same so neutral point is
shifted from center is prevent by mainten constant load at
all phase
