how air cylinder cfm calcualted.suppose cylinder bore-40mm and stroke 70mm operating pressure 6bar..

Answer / ashok

cylinder bore=40mm or 40/25.4=1.574 inches
cylinder stroke=70mm or70/25.4=2.755 inches
Cylinder radius=0.787 inches
volume of cylinder (v1) 3.14*(0.787*0.787)*2.755=5.357
cubic inc
Pr. of air (p1)=6bar
Atm pr. = Patm.=1.013 bar
p1v1=V* patm
V= p1v1/patm cu. feet
cfm= V* 0.5 * speed of crank shaft

CFM for this cylinder for one stroke is
= volume of cylinder in cu feet/
