What is the use of defining security hierarchy?

security hierarchy ---- security rules applies to both
parent and the child values.
NONE -- security does not apply to any values.
Non security hierarchy --- applies only to parent but not
to child values.
NOTE:
THIS TYPES OF RULES ARE USEFUL IF UR PLANNING TO USE
SECURITY TYPE RULE.

In the document types window is the security level is set
as hierarchy we get an option Security hierarchy in the
Purchasing Optio window> control Tab.
There if we give a Hierarchy name it does mean that the
purchasing Documents like (PO, Requisitions) can be viewed
by only the person who are defned under this hierarchy....
