what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / jeevan dhole

torque is a resistive force producing by rod material about
its own axis when external twisting coupled force is applied
on it.............

moment is the rotational displacement produced by the rod
member about any point on member when external point load or
couple is applied on it..............

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / pradeep berry

Pressure is in balloons, pressure is in cylinders, pressure
is active when enclosed,
while Force is push, pull, moving a thing etc.
this is what is naturally happening and will indicate the
difference.

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / nayyer

Stress is basically restoring force per unit area. The restoring force is produced on the application of external force, while as pressure is simply force acting per unir area on a surface.

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / viplava

stress is internal resistance due to applied load, where as pressure is external force applied upon the surface.
stress may be in tension or compression or shear, pressure is only only compression.

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / vivekdoke

pressure and stress both are same
but Pressure is sclar quantity and stress is scalar
quantity e.g Normal stress shear stress

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / ravi kumar singh

STRESS is defiend as the ressistance force applied against deformation is known as stress.

but pressure =acting force/unit area

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / praveen

Stress deals with the application of load while pressure
deals with the external disturbances or the load.

stress can be stated as:
stress=load applied/Area of cross section

while pressure can be stated as:
pressure=force or external disturbance/Area of cross section

what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what is the difference between moment and tor..

Answer / engr. safeer khan

stress and pressure are same thing but stress is internal
resistance of solids against applied force
while
pressue is used for liquid and gases which is also an
internal resistance against applied force
