Can the same motor be operated in both direction ?..

Answer / krishna mohan

In case of dc motors, we need to change direction of either
field current or the armature current. if u change both the
motor will run in the same direction as before

For ac machines(3 phase) just by changing the phase sequence
we can make the motor to run in opposite direction.

DEAR ALL,

FIRST OF ALL, I SUGGEST ALL USERS THAT THIS SITE IS USED BY
SOMEONE FOR GETTING KNOWLEDGE, IF U DONT KNOW EXCECT ANSWER
THEN DONT WRITE OVER HERE AND DONT MISSGUIDE OTHER PEOPLE.

YES SAME MOTOR CAN BE OPERATED IN BOTH DIERECTION.
IF MOTOR IS 3 PHASE AC SUPPLY THEN CHANGED ANY TWO PHASE
THEN DOR OF THE MOTOR IS CHANGED.
IF THE MOTOR IS 1 PHASE AC SUPPLY THEN CHANGED STARTING
WINDING LEAD.
IF MOTOR IS DC SUPPLY THEN DOR OF THE MOTOR SHOULD BE
CHANGED IF ONLY FIELD WINDING CONNECTON OR ARMATURE WINDING
CONNECTION CAN BE REVERSE. IF WE CHANGE SUPPLY + AND - WIRE
THEN DOR NOT CHANGE.
