Answer / guest

tester execute the test and compare the actual result
with the documented expected result. is there any
discripancy exist log the discripancy with status as NEW.

tester/leader OPEN the defect and review with the developer
about discripancy if it is truly a defect.

then developer rectify that one and update its status to
FIXED.
again it is routed back to the tester for retesting.

the tester retest that one and compare the result , if the
result is matched then he close the defect and update its
status to CLOSED.

if the result is not matched he agaian reopen the defect
and assign it to the developer and update its status to
REOPEN.
