8=5*2-2
13=8*2-3

So it should be 22 in place of 24.

2^1+2=3....2^3+5=13, 2^4+6=22, 2^5+7=39.
So answer is- 24 is wrong number.

8-5=3 3 is a prime number
13-8=5 5 is a prime number

So after 11 the next prime number is 17. If we are add 24
with 17 we will get 41. Then we sunstract 72-41=31 is the
