Firstly the basic difference is no. of Carbon atoms. C-18 has higher retention and Hydrophobicity as compared to the C-8.

Hello Dear all; I have a technical question related to analytical Chemistry, I have a sample of (40% w/w) Ferric Chloride solution (for water treatment purposes which consist a little portions of Ferrous Chloride and Hydrochloric acid.
