what is the function of DC panel in substation?..

To convert ac into dc,then store it in the batteries.when a fault occurs relays are act on only in dc,and for lightining purpose in the substation.BATTERIES are heart of the substation.

all the controls (VCB's & protections relay) will be on DC

When the AC supply is off then for identification of the VCB's & control will very easy it means heart of the Control

DC supply only for breaker control because ,if plant came to blockout we cant resume even EB suppy without breaker close.
