Firstly check out the rating of capacitor you want to check.According to voltage rating given on capacitor, apply the voltage to its two terminals(Note :Do not apply the voltage more than rating voltage, otherwise it will make a short circuit, less voltage can be applied) and then short those terminals.if spark between terminals is observed it is good otherwise it is bad.

How to the calculate kw in vfd motor
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 0 Yes | 0 No |
Do not give supply directly but through a bulb. It may be shorted or you may exceed the rated voltage . If the capacitor is good the brightness will be less and you can also test for stored energy

why voltage is low at reciving end in summer??
some practicle study shows that the reactive power at the receiving end is not equal to the reactive power at the sending end.But according to theory the reactive power is exchanged by different parts of the network – capacitors and reactors permanently, but is never consumed or produced. Then Where that reacrtive power loss occuring?is there any formula to calculate reactive power loss?
