Rated speed is also maximum speed of a motor no difference
b/w max.speed and rated speed. in case of on load operation
of motor rated speed may be down in little bit which called
slip speed.

working principle of induction motor is similar to transformer. but what makes it to rotate? then why the transformer doesnt?
