will a transformer work when pulsating dc id applied to its primary?? what will be the result??..

Answer / viral shah

As per faraday's law of electromagnetic induction emf produce across the conductor exposed to time varying magnetic field.
when we apply pulsating DC then time varying magnetic field produce...so we get emf across secondary winding

will a transformer work when pulsating dc id applied to its primary?? what will be the result??..

Answer / pramit dutta

Transformer is transfer energy from primary to secondary.
So it needs changing flux in its core so that the flux can cut
across windings and induced voltage and current. We know,
e=-N da/dt ,where a is flux in core. So if pulsating dc id applied to its primary then the lines of flux will be constant. So e will be 0. So energy can't be transfered.
