transformer differential protection is that when the earth fault current is higher so that h.v side and l.v side transformation ratio must be maintain but that time the ratio could not be maintain that time transformer will be tripped in differential.

Differential protection compares de primary currents with secondary currents (which must keep the same ratio) in order to detect a "differential" current between them caused for an inner fault.
