WHAT HAPPEN WHEN A DROP OF WATER MIXED UP WITH TRANSFORMER OIL ?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / rajat sahu
(i)dielectric breakdown:-when hightemp high load occour
this water can boil and cause vapour bubble that result
dielectric failure.when temp cool this dissolved water will
separete from oil and cause fluid degradation.
(ii)corrosion.
(iii)loose clamping.

Answer / sheikh
in a huge amount of transformer oil one drop of water is
negligible. but a certain quantity of water Die electric
strength may be poor and creating short circuit or any other problem.
in 11kv system die electric strength level should be 40kv
as per standard.

It is loss the efficiency of transformer and may chance to
break down failure while loading (in loading oil temp will
get rise then water is going to separate from oil as well
as it will vaporized and affect the tx ventilation)
