why the measure taken in multiplication factor of 11for
voltage like..
110V,220V,440V,1.1KV,6.6KV,11KV,33KV,66KV,110KV,132KV,220KV

why the measure taken in multiplication factor of 11for voltage like.. 110V,220V,440V,1.1KV,6.6K..

Answer / anuj tiwary

As the EMF of a transformer is defined by the following formula:
EMF= 4x(Form Factor)x(Flux)x(Frequency)xN
Where N= Number of turns of Primary Windings (integer)
Form factor = RMS/Avg = 0.70/0.63 = 1.1 (for a sin wave)
Frequency = 50 Hz (integer)
Flux= BxA (integer)

Thus, the EMF turns out to be a multiple of 11, like 110V, 220V, 33 kV etc
