basically power is required for each and every appliance we use like motors ,fans,ac,tv's,fridges etc.for each and every load there should be different type of supply . the three phase supply increases the efficiency of single phase supply by 50 percentage .but further increase in phase like six phase increases the efficiency by only 7 percent only and also leading to more complications on the generator side , and further increase in phases also leads to same case increasing the complexity on generator . so 3 phase supply includes 3 phase double circuit supply ,3 phased 3 circuit supply and so on........................

I am designing new project sub station with 220 kV / 11 kV, 40 MVA capacity. This project have many recifier sets, which can generate 3rd harmonics. Now I have to select vector group of This transformer. To minimise 3rd harmonics, what care should I take in selection of Transformer Vecrtor group? If it is Y-Y with open Delta tertiary then what should be the rating & voltage of Tertiary Winding?
