Radar level sensor work with high frequency radar which are
guide along a probe,As the pulse impact the medium the
impedence changes and part of the emitted pulse is reflected
The time between pulse launcing and recieving is measured
and level calculated.
Ultrasonic level sensor works on sound wave principle,
direct sound wave brust on onto the surface of the material
whose level is to be measured, echos of these waves returns
to the transducer which perform the calulation to convert
the distance of wave travel.

Radar level measurement is measuring the time required for
the microwave
pulse and its reflected echo to make a complete return trip
between the non-contacting transducer and the
sensed material level. Then, the transceiver converts this
signal electrically into distance/level and
presents it as an analogue and/or digital signal. The
transducer’s output can be selected by the user to be
directly or inversely proportional to the span.Radar level
transmitters provide non contact type of level measurement
in case of liquids in a metal tank. They make use
ofelectromagnetic waves usually in the microwave X-band
range which is near about 10 GHz.
Ultrasonic level instruments operate on the basic principle
of using sound waves to determine liquid/
solid/slurries level.Ultrasonic Level Transmitters consist
of two elements; 1) a high efficiency transducer and, 2) an
associated electronic transceiver. Together, they operate
to determine the time for a transmitted ultrasonic
pulse and its reflected echo to make a complete return trip
between the non-contacting transducer and the
sensed material level. The frequency range for ultrasonic
methods is in the range of 15...200 kHz.
