Answer / mohsin jamil
because motors start slowly with high torque and bcz of high
torque it needs high amp until it reaches to its full speed..
thats why we use Star connection or start the motor slow so
that motors winding doesn't burn

Answer / muthu kumaran
initially there is no back emf in motor and so current due to the supply voltage flows fully thru the motor.
for EX:230v supply resistance of motor is 0.15ohm -->I=230/0.15=1350.but the rated I is 45A.so that the motot gets damage.so we need to use the starter

At the starting time 'EB=0'(back emf) so that
motor draws a 2 to 3 times of its full load current
and which cause to damege the winding. ummm....
That is why using stater to reduse starting current

Answer / simpson
when the motor is in off position the starting winding’s
resistance is 0 ohm .If in this condition 3 Phase 440 v is
directly applied on it the result will b blow of the starting
winding .Hence huge amount of heat will produce .

if a damaged 500kva transformer with %impedance 2.6 is replaced by two transformers of 250Kva with different % impedance will they be able to catter the load. what will be the ratio of load on the two transformers if the % impedance is in the ratio 1:2
i have one source transformer with the capacity of 50KVA, connected with two loads 10kw and second one is 15kw.. how can i calculate first load in KVA and second one in KVA .. because Kva rating, power factor rating of of transformer is different from the load… there must be some way to calculate load KVA rating and power factor….
