to genrate rotating field in single phase motor Capacitor
is used as a starting winding;when motor rotates at 80 % of
full speed ;Starting winding cut off from circuit & fan
motor runs at rated speed.

fan is a capacitor start and capacitor run motor.
Basically single phase induction motor is not a self start motor. Fan having starting coil and running coil. The capacitor is connected to starting coil. when we are giving supply to the fan, because of the capacitor charging and discharging charector the current flows through the starting coil and capacitor and it starts rotation.

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
