what is the reason of power development in synchronous generator due to saliency ?..

Answer / brahma reddy

the power exp for syn. gen due to saliency is

P= (EV/Xd)sin& + v2/2[1/Xd-1/Xq]sin2&

the term after + is called reluctance power that
means eventhough gen not starts it will posses some power
due its reluctance
due to this in syn gen powrer is saliency
